HOW IT ALL STARTED

Founded in 2010, Namak Mandi was born from a deep love for the bold, time-honoured flavours of Peshawar and a desire to bring the soul of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the heart of London. At a time when authentic Peshawari cuisine was scarce in the city, we set out to create a space where tradition could thrive — where every dish told a story of heritage, fire, and flavour.

From the start, our philosophy has been simple: cook everything fresh, honour each recipe’s roots, and use only the finest ingredients. This commitment to authenticity has earned us a loyal following and cemented our place as one of London’s most respected names in regional Pakistani cuisine. The story of Namak Mandi begins with two individuals whose shared passion for food and culture brought them together: Nayyer, with years of experience managing restaurants, and Hamid, who built his career in the hospitality industry. Their combined knowledge, dedication, and vision formed the perfect partnership.

With a deep respect for the culinary traditions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a belief that London deserved a true taste of Peshawar, they set out to create something different — something real. Namak Mandi wasn’t just meant to be another restaurant. It was envisioned as an experience: a tribute to heritage, hospitality, and handcrafted flavours.
